Orme

Orme is a Toulouse-based acoustic quartet comprised of members from Plebeian Grandstand, Sed Non Satiata, Ancre and ex-Yoshitonku. Their unique sound is derived from the use of such instruments as the bouzouki and mandolin to compose rich compositions. These folkloric tones give warmth to Orme’s music while the cello balances it with classical influences, making the music feel more nocturnal and minor. Neither melancholic nor wholly nostalgic, the 4 instrumental tracks on this debut EP are as full of life as they are frozen in time, alternating between peaceful rides and syncopated turns, somewhere between the progressive-folk of James Blackshaw and a certain Balkanic heritage.
